Call for Applications – Doctoral Scholarship in NCN OPUS Project

Dr Kaja Kowalczewska invites applications for a doctoral scholarship within the NCN-funded project “From Voices to Verdicts: The Role of User-Generated Evidence in Transforming International Criminal Justice” (FVTV).

The project will be carried out from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2029 at the Centre for Digital Justice, Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics, University of Wrocław.

Who are we looking for?

We invite applications from fifth-year law students who plan to pursue doctoral studies in the thematic area of the project.

Responsibilities:

  • literature review and desk research
  • editorial support in preparing publications with research findings (including experience in academic publishing, strong command of Word, OneDrive and Zotero)
  • assistance with transcription of recorded interviews
  • participation in the analysis of case law and ongoing proceedings
  • dissemination of project results via social media (including podcast production)
  • time availability and administrative support related to project implementation at the University of Wrocław

Key competencies:

  • strong knowledge of public international law and international criminal law
  • advanced writing and editorial skills (including publication experience)
  • excellent command of English (spoken and written)
  • interest in digital technologies and international justice

Additional assets include:

  • proficiency in French, German, Ukrainian, Russian or Arabic
  • participation in international moot court competitions
  • experience in organizing international conferences, seminars, and study visits of foreign researchers

We offer:

  • a monthly doctoral scholarship of 5,000 PLN, increased to 6,500 PLN after a successful mid-term evaluation
  • work in an interdisciplinary and supportive research team
  • the possibility of remote work (with in-person presence in Wrocław required for administrative purposes)
