Criminal Etiology & Research Methods

The aim of the course is to familiarize students with interesting and multi-threaded issues of causes of crime as well as research methods in criminal justice. The first group of issues concerns the problems of the so-called paradigms of criminology, with particular emphasis placed on the positivist direction. The second group of issues concerns instruments aimed at understanding surrounding social reality as it pertains to crime.
